font-style: normal; line-height: 24px;\">hese desert regions wouldn&#8217;t seem like a good place to go fishing. \u00a0<\/span>However, a combination of cold mountain snow-melt and cold water springs can create creeks that support trout year round.<\/p>\n<p>When the topography and location is right, you can end up with decent fishing opportunities in the middle of rather inhospitable deserts. \u00a0A small creek can provide a flowing ribbon-like oasis through the desert, bringing cool water and trout to an otherwise hot and dry landscape.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_554\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-554\" style=\"width: 1600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/larsonweb.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/7994421660_54c2539a2e_h.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-554\" title=\"Desert Fishing\" src=\"http:\/\/larsonweb.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/7994421660_54c2539a2e_h.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1062\" srcset=\"http:\/\/larsonweb.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/7994421660_54c2539a2e_h.jpg 1600w, http:\/\/larsonweb.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/7994421660_54c2539a2e_h-300x199.jpg 300w, http:\/\/larsonweb.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/7994421660_54c2539a2e_h-1024x679.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/larsonweb.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/7994421660_54c2539a2e_h-451x300.jpg 451w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-554\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Doesn&#8217;t look very much like trout country<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Fishing in the desert can be challenging. \u00a0In this country, fishable water is the exception, so you may have to do a bit of exploring to find water that actually holds trout. \u00a0Often, you won&#8217;t find any fish at all. \u00a0I look at desert fishing as &#8220;hiking with a fly rod&#8221;
