Sketches for the Ice Bridge painting

This sketch above and the one immediately below it were the original concept sketches Donato provided me for the painting.

Below is the final sketch, which formed the basis for the actual painting. Note how Donato stretched out the length of the bridge to help balance the composition and add more tension. Giving him the flexibility to come up with ideas such as this led to a much better painting.
